Po Kok Primary School Mathematics

Aims：

Regular practice on memorizing multiplication table by subject teacher and set a learning target to enhance students’ calculation skill and confidences.
Further improve the teaching strategies on the use of graphic organisers to stimulate students’ comprehensive skill and problem-solving skill on the word problems. Ultimately, to enhance students’ self-learning skill and to find the answers by themselves.

	Use interactive learning materials such as iPad learning, individual whiteboard, hands-on activities or discussion to motivate students to participate actively and happily in lessons.
	Make use of different diagrams to enhance students’ study skill of solving word problems.
	Through different kinds of learning activities such as jotting notes on Mathematics Bankbook, self-checklists, preview worksheets, unit reflections and P.4-6 My Learning Plan to enhance students’ self-study skill.
Jan	STEAM Activity will be organised by GS panel. Students have to collect data, design and create their own products, analyze data.	To enhance students’ thinking and problem-solving skills.
Jan	Students have to solve the problems that contains daily-life examples in the Theme-based worksheet.
Jun	The Project Learning has covered different dimensions. Students need to apply different skills to solve the problem.
Jul	STEAM Day is co-organized with GS and VA subject. Different activities are carried out.	To enhance students’ interest in Mathematics.
Year round	Through different hands-on activities to strengthen students’ Mathematics concept on different learning units.	To enhance students’ interest in Mathematics.
